That link was very interesting. Thanks!
It would be nice if we had some of those features, though I s'pose it would be a right pain in the arse to get them working propery, but something for the wishlist.

Yesterday I unpacked my pscan device and directly tried it out at my MEMS 1.6 Mini with 5AS.
I successfully learned new fobs and were able to read and write the EMS. And learned the MEMS1.6 to a new 5AS code!
Really cool and easy compared to a Testbook which takes for booting so much time

I´m really interested in the passive mode of the immobilizer. So maybe you can add in the selection list '5AS - Advanced programming' to have space in the GUI for the advanced features like passive mode or others from the 5AS Diagnostics tool - would be great!

Are you using the 3 pin cable to talk to the 5AS?
I think that you are the first customer to try that.
I will look at finding a button on the GUI for passive mode.

Yess!
Your 3 pin Cable on a 1996 Mini using the green connector for the 5AS.
Okay it is alway an effort to swich between the beige and green one between the MEMS1.6 and 5AS connection. But normally you just need it once when your not playing around :D

Thank you all,
This sounds great. Maybe 8 to 10 years ago I bought a half cut 95 1.3spi mini. I have finally transferred it all into a 65 van. Only to realise now that all I have is one ignition key. Been searching madly to find solution to not having any fobs, and an immobiliser alarm that fired up at first battery connection. The PSCAN product looked as a solution, and I think this forum has confirmed that. Looks like I'll be investing shortly.
Thanks heaps. :D

Used the 5as alarm/door/boot/bonnet display on my zs 2003, on which the alarm seemed to go off randomly. Even the interior light came one once or twice when the doors were all closed. Sat in the car with the pscan display running, opening/closing the doors, seemed ok, but then noticed that on 2 occasions, pscan indicated that the drivers door was open when it was not, so i got a new door switch and i hope that it might be ok now. I had previously thought that it was the right rear door but hopefully the car is now ok.
I did notice that whenever i opened the drivers door, pscan showed the driver and passenger doors were open. When i opened any of the passenger doors it shows just the passenger door open, but when pscan showed the drivers door open (when it was closed) it did not show the passenger open as well.....

That's some excellent piece of news. I always wondered myself if the 3-pin connector supplied with pscan.eu could talk to the 5AS on the older cars with no ODB2 connector, I had no way of testing (yet) myself, but I'm glad someone else did :)

Will the Pscan show the fault memory of the 5AS as I understand they store the last 5 events. This would be particularly useful in troubleshooting the reason for false triggers.
