Hi Phil. I've recently had to have a new hard drive fitted to my laptop, loosing all my files in to the bargain. I have successfully reinstalled the Pscan software and my question is does my Pscan interface now see my laptop has the 2nd registered computer even though it is still basically the 1st, if so can I de-register the first licence or is this done automatically when attempting to register a third computer.

It should still recognise the laptop as being already registered.
The software will always ask your permission before registering a laptop. If it doesn't ask then it means it is already in there. I am guessing from your question that it didn't ask.

It may have asked me to tick a box but I honestly cant remember now, there was a lot going on at the time trying to get back on line. Is there no way of telling and what exactly happens when someone attempts to register a third computer?

When you register the third computer it will tell you that you must deregister one of the two that is already registered.
It will ask you which one to deregister.
The software will then deregister the one that you tell it to and add the third.
