I'm getting rid of my MG ZS. It'll go on ebay at the weekend but I'd thought I'd pop it on here just in case anyone fancies a winter project.

This car is spares or repair, priced at £75 as that's what the scrap man will give me.

Good Points

All work listed has been carried out since January this year when I purchased the car.

Complete new exhaust system (down pipe, cat, mid section, back box).
New head gasket (Payen BW750)
New head bolts.
New cambelt + tensioner.
New water pump + thermostat + seals.
Replaced one exhaust cam seal.
New exhaust/inlet gaskets.
New radiator.
New plugs.
New outer cv joints and boots.
MOTed until June 2017.

Bad Points
Running on 3 cylinders.
Normal age related dents and scratches.
Unusual rattle from engine bay on occasion when under load (related to misfire?).

Car was running great until about 3 months ago when it started using oil. Blue exhaust smoke became more and more noticeable.
I thought maybe it was just a stem seal but it's got progressively worse. Last month we bought a replacement car and I've just been using the ZS intermittently.
This past weekend it developed misfire on cylinder 1. Removed plug and it was caked in oil (other 3 were ok), cleaned plug but as soon as car was run again the fault returned and the plug was covered in oil again.

It may be repeated head gasket failure, maybe a stem seal, maybe a piston ring, I'm really not sure.

Now I have an alternative car and no real desire to bother with another K-series engine problem so the ZS needs to go.

Happy to answer any questions and can post up some better pictures at weekend if needed.

Note car is on BRM alloys in picture but it will come with 17" straights (unless you want to pay extra for alloys :p)
