Hi,

If you want a 'klinger' multi-shim HG, and can't get sense from your lcoal Rover dealer, then you can buy

Elring part number 447.380 or

Ultra-Parts part number UBN932

Descirbed as: "Rover 220, 420, 820 T16 engine with a multi shim headgasket"

Its the tri-layer steel head gasket, with the klinger name and logo stamped on the centre layer, and /retails/ at £15, less for trade.

Incidentally, since "how do I know if I have a klinger head gasket" or "what does a klinger headgasket look like" is a common question, here's a picture of the little 'tab' that will stick out of the front RHS corner of the head-block join (as viewed from the front of the vehicle) if you have a klinger HG. Klinger name/logo visible, so this is the genuine part, but in an Elring box not a Rover one.

Its a similar story with cambelts, 'fanbelts' etc - buy "Gates" belts, and you'll be getting genuine parts - regardless of what colour box it comes in.

Hope this saves somebody a £ or two. :) (or if your dealer is as shite as mine - gets you the right part!)

EDIT - they're actually 4 layers, nyou can see three in the pic and there's a 4th underneath the klinger tab.

Try any local motor factor - ask if they can order Elring or Ultra-Parts gaskets?

I'm not criticising the post - just bringing the other one to people's attemntion. That's why I added the ' ' at the end.
