Hi guys.

I beleive I have a metro steering rack. The one of the track rod ends died. So decided to replace them.

I was after a part QR1823S. But was given QR1420S as this was it's replacement. It is a very sloppy fit on the rack threads.

Is there imperial and metric thread sizes on different metro track rod ends?

Your first part number is from a mini, and the one your replacing it with is from a marina.

Actually , first one is used on metro aswell.

So it appears your replacement is wrong ?

Metro, Marina and Mini all used QR1823S.

I was told I needed QR1823S. Are QR1823S & QR1420S the same part? As the QR1420S one seems wrong.

Can someone check the part numbers for metro 80-90 &90-95 and see if they are two different part numbers?

Righto. Found a couple of things.

QH only has one part number listed for all metro's, QR1823S.

But first line has two:

80-90
http://www.firstline.co.uk/op3/f_ste...%20Rover&mmeid[0]=3736&mmeid[1]=3737&model=Metro&variant=-&subvariant=(1980-90)&engine=&product=Steering&var_desc[0]=3736__3996&var_desc[1]=3737__3997

90-95
http://www.firstline.co.uk/op3/f_ste...oduct=Steering

The difference being, the earlier metro ones are imperial, the later metic as per John's post above.

I've guessing I have the wrong firstline part.
