THE 5TH MEETING OF 2012
THE 33rd TEESSIDE MEETING 27-05-2012

Image

Welcome

We are MG-ROVER - TEESSIDE, we organise the North East
Monthly Meet which is now called 'The TEESSIDE MEET'.

A little about us, the original Meet was set-up by Adam-MGTF, after
visiting the MERSEYSIDE Meet and seeing how popular it was he
decided it would be great to get a Meet going in his native area of Teesside and getting all the local and surrounding .org MG-ROVER owners together for there own Meet. He did a fantastic job getting
it off the ground, it started with small numbers but now has a great
following of local .org and non .org owners.

Due to work and University commitments Adam-MGTF handed over
the reigns for the Meets to sav-mg. To help get things going he
enlisted the help of the MERSEYSIDE and LONDON Meet Organiser
ROVER-25X (AKA - CHARLZY) to start the Meets afresh and have a
general re-branding to give us our own identity and logo just like the
MERSEYSIDE and LONDON Meets, we also now have a facebook
Group so we can all keep up to date with all the Meet dates and any
other events that are organised such as Track Days, DYNO/Rolling
Road Days and Runs.

ABOUT THE MEET

We are still searching for a Primary Meet location, this may take a
few months and the Meet being held in a different location for a
while but the hope is to have a perminant Meet location just like
the MERSEYSIDE MEET's primary locaton, The GAME BIRD.

This month we are having the Meet at NAVIGATION WAY ,TEES BARRAGE
as this thought to more picturesque for meeting photos
link is below in thread

The general plan for the Meets is to arrive at the designated
location for the time listed on this topic which is early in the
afternoon so that we can make a day of it and use the available daylight.

The Meet Rep will try to arrive first and find the most empty spaces
so we can all park together and weather permiting have a good chin
wag and chat about each others cars and take some pics, we usually
stay outside to greet anyone who has yet to arrive and we will not be hard to find all parked together, plus the Meet Rep owns a skoda octavia (08) so keep an eye out for it.

We shall always have the Meets at a Pub Resturants so that we can
all enjoy the food and plus if the Weather takes a turn for the worst
or if its the Winter Months there is always somewhere warm to sit,
plus the fact that we have access to Toilet facillities helps.

These Meets are Family Friendly and we make Spouses and
Girlfriends very welcome, we will do our best to cater for Members
with Children and try to make sure all the Locations have Baby
changing facilities.

There are quite a few .org Members in the TEESSIDE and surrounding
areas but if you know any other Members on .org who are unaware
of the Meet or if you have Friends or Family who own an MG-ROVER
then get them down to enjoy the company of like minded owners.

We have adopted the basic rules for the New Meet that are used by
the MERSEYSIDE and LONDON Meets this is to make sure we represent
MG-ROVER.org and MG-ROVER - TEESSIDE in a good manner.

1. NO ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOR
2. NO WHEEL SPINS
3. NO BURN-OUTS
4. NO DOHNUTS
5. NO DANGEROUS MANUVERS (Handbrake turns etc)
6. NO BLASTING SOUND SYSTEMS
7. DO DRINK RESPONSIBLY

ANY BREACH THESE RULES AND YOU WILL BE BANNED
FROM ATTENDING FUTURE MEETS AND YOU WILL BE
REPORTED TO ADMIN ON HERE.

Blimey, only 3 takers, and the meet is scheduled for tomorrow!

I think I'll duck out. It's a long way to travel for a 3 car meet, and that's if everybody shows.

I think the idea of Dalton Park should be explored, as it might attract more numbers from a bit further North than a Teesside based location. I understand I am new to this forum, and I'm open to people saying "You don't know what you're talking about. We've had more than 30 meets on Teesside!" which is a fair point, but it's just my opinion :)

Look forward to seeing you guys at a meet soon.

Yeah its never really taken off as an idea which is a shame really. Oh well looks like its cancelled then seeing as I spoke to Andy yesterday and he said he couldn't make it either. Shame as it'd have been the first warm dry day as well for ages.

Ok sorry to disappoint those that could come but due to lack of interest on this and other forums i've decided to cancel this meeting. Again sorry to disappoint anyone who was thinking of coming but my reasoning is what is the point in people travelling from Newcastle or further for just 2 cars to turn up. If there is enough firm yes's and committed people who want to turn up for the next one then pm me and I'll get a thread put up.
