*ANNOUCEMENT*

It is with regret that this will be the last Merseyside
Meet event posted on RoverTech as we simply do
not get anyone from here attending the Meets.

:sorry:

If we get significant interest in the Merseyside Meet
from RoverTech Members for this up coming meet then
we shall reconcider pulling out of posting up on here.

WELCOME

We are MG-ROVER - MERSEYSIDE, we are a group of
MG-ROVER owners and mg-rover.org Members who
organise the monthly Merseyside Meets and events
in the Merseyside Area.

ABOUT US

It all began in early 2008 when Andypower set up a topic
called "whos in merseyside" in England - North to see if
there were any other .org members were local to him,
following on from that ROVER-25X set up the first topic
of what would eventualy become the Merseyside Meet,
it is now the longest running monthly meet on .org, we
have held 58 regular Monthly Meets, 5 Christmas Meals,
3 Track Days, 4 DYNO Days and 7 Tunnel Runs, we also
organised our first Blackpool Illuminations Invasion Run
in 2012 and it will now be an annual feature.

Members from all over the UK have attended the Meet
and we average 10 cars per meet, our Record is 23 Cars
which was during Tunnel Run 2, come on down and
enjoy the atmosphere with a fantasctic bunch of helpful
and frienldy people.

ABOUT THE MEET

The Meet is arranged on the first Sunday of the month
from Febuary to December and always starts at 13:00.

We aim to have a Meet Rep to arrive early to greet
everyone as they arrive, the meet is always in the
early afternoon so that we can make the most of the
daylight in the Winter months and enjoy the
fantastic sunshine in the Summer months.

ITS STARTING TO WARM UP NOW ! :D

We usualy spend our time outside chatting, looking at
the cars in attendance and lending a hand fixing
proplems or help fitting mods and sharing tips and
advice, we always try to take photos of the line up of
cars in attendance and group pics including the work
being done on cars, we also occationaly film videos of
the meet and of Members cars, due to the great location
we have a 60mph road at the front of the meet location
so we can capture the induction roar and exhaust
sounds of members cars if they wish us to do so safely
and within the limits of the law.

Our primary Meet location is The Game Bird, occationaly
we have set the meet at other locations but we always
have the meets at Pub Resturants with access to a large
car park access to Food, Drink and Toilets, plus if the
weather takes a turn for the worst or if it is too cold there
is always somewhere warm to sit, if you arrive at the
meet and can't see anyone about you will always find our
cars parked together, if you pop inside the venue and ask
a Member of Staff for the MG-ROVER Meet and they will
point us out.

TUNNEL RUN 8

This month welcomes the return of our Summer Tunnel
Runs, we all meet up at The Game Bird at 13:00 then at
14:00 we all head off to the car park at FORT PERCH ROCK
in New Brighton via the Wallasey Tunnel giving you all a
chance to hear your exhausts and indction kits inside the
40mph twin lane tunnel under the River Mersey.

The Tunnel Toll is £1.60 per trip so if you are making a
return journey you will need £3.20, there is a Manned
Booth that will give you change of coins and notes.

We will not be traveling in convoy as it would not be
possible for us all to stay together in a group while we
travel through inner city traffic so one of the Meet Reps
will head off first and continue to the venue while keeping
to the correct speed limit, just make your own way there
safely and drive in an apporpriate mannor.

The Fort Perch Rock Car Park can get busy but there is a
Morrisons Superstore located accorss the marina wich
always has lots of spaces available, once parked up we will
be meeting up inside The Seaside Cafe for lunch, it is
located on the parade and looks like this.

Google Maps LINK: https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=53.440 ... iwloc=near

After having our lunch we go into the Arcarde or we go
to the Fun Fair to have a laugh on the Dodgems or on
the Waltzers, there are fantastic sea front views and
nothing beats a good walk down the promenard, feel
free to go off and do you own thing as theres no set
plans or activities once we have got there, just enjoy
the day as you see fit.

Also feel free to meet us there at The Seaside Cafe if
you don't want to partake in the Tunnel Run itself, we
should arrive at Fort Perch Rock at 14:30 - 14:40 but
this is dependant on traffic conditions.

These Meets are Family Friendly and we make Members
Spouses and Partners feel very welcome, we normaly
find locations with Playgounds so that members with
Children are able to attend, all the Locations have Baby
changing facilities.

Don't confuse these meets with the local Chav Cruises
down at your local retail park, yes we hang arround in
car parks chatting away but we don't act anti-socialy,
the age range of our regular Members is 19-60, anyone
is welcome to attend, there are no age barriers at the
Merseyside Meet.

INTRODUCE YOURSELF

If you are new to the Meet then please introduce
yourself to the group, in the past we have had a few
cars arrive and the owners just sat in there car and
eventualy drive off, we have no idea who you are until
you tell us
so please jump out of your car and say
hello to the group, we are very frienldy and don't bite.

PROMOTE THE MEET

There are a lot of MG-ROVER owners all over the
Merseyside, Midlands and genral North West area
that attend the meet and we gladly welcome more,
if you know any other Members on Rovertech.net or
have any family or friends who own an MG-ROVER
then please let them know about us, if you are a
Member of another MG-ROVER owners Club or
forum then it would be great if you could generate
interest in the meet and post up a link for our
facebook Group and inform there Members of the
Merseyside Meet.

Well its one week to go folks ! :D

We will probably end up parking in Morrisons because if we have the weather
on our side the Fort Perch Rock will be busy, were going to aim for the Top
Left section of the car park as you drive in the main entrance of the car park.
