Thinking of doing another one of my notorious fix it days where you bring what you got and what you need doing and by the end of the day it should be fixed.

Here is what has happened on previous events.
http://roverrevival.blogspot.co.uk/

The only catch is I need 3 of my little projects out of the way to make room for you all.

So my question is, while the weathers nice, do you want me to offer another fix it day?

Nah, everyone "darn sarf" is loaded innit ! We take them to the stealerships

No it's a right PITA, haven't found any Rover/MG enthusiasts that do something like this down here. Tis a pity. I did find a few places in N London where you can rent a ramp, but if you get stuck there's no mechanics/knowledgeable folk round to help you out. And if you're not sure what you're doing that could be a disaster.

If I was up NW way I'd be voting "yes" for one of these.

ROFL @ Pinkie

As for the North East crew, why not try what us Merseysiders did, find a small local garage, introduce yourselves and tell them you are wanting to set up a fix it/service day for 'x' amount of people, could you hire the use of the ramp and expercise of a mechanic to help out where needed, if they charge you £200, thats £20 a person, I managed to get a local garage to agree to this for £120.

Need this in the Glasgow area, would love to appear and muck in. Been too long since I played with a spanner.

There's supposed to be one opening in Trafford Park, Manchester. I'm on their mailing list but I've not heard anything recently. I've often wondered about doing this myself.
Car lift, pit, tools and electricity for a fixed price per hour. Perhaps 4 or 5 bays.

It is a lot of work to get it set up and you would need a f/t mechanic on hand for health and safety conformity.

Insurance is quite a different problem on its own.

I know, and that's the reason I haven't gone into it further. If you've got another slot free I want to fit my Vitty anti-roll bar to Ruby but only if the ramp is free. She's now MOT'd and taxed so driving her down to you won't be a risk.

No rush (a bit like the M series locking tool). I'm just glad to have her running properly again. I might even get the stainless system mocked up for a fitting trial. I have a flexi section to replace the cat and a stainless flange to mate to the downpipe.
