Hi Guys!

So sorry for the delay in getting times up...I flew off to Rome straight after the track day and just got back.

Before we go any further, I just want to thank everyone who turned up, and everyone who helped out to make the day soooo AWESOME.

I have created a PDF of all the lap times that you can download and review as you desire.

https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=3 ... 724232!266

The photos are still on their way.. but I will get them up ASAP.

Thanks again!

Stace

Chin up Greg, it was still a good day and you managed to get on track.

Surely you wasn't taking it that serious though with the problems you were having?

The people doing the times do need a good caning though, I'm not sure who did the times but they seemed distracted at times when people were on track when I was looking.

You could have been below 24.1 !!!

Rematch needed :D

I meant with the track times dude.

It looked like kids doing the recording hence the reason Dan won, they liked his orange roll cage :sorry:

Hope it hasn't bothered you too much Greg, on the plus side, that's twice we've had the pleasure of meeting in the last 2 months :^^:

yeah

i know you meant the times, but that was the whole point? semi serious time keeping

i would have paid £50 if it meant chipping in for some cheap and frankly accurate timing gear

otherwise we might have well just done doughnuts

although taking nothing away from the epic efforts and overall amazing day i had, its just p1ssmed me off big time that my registration aint even right and one time

cmon

that sucks

yeah pleasure again james, your a good guy

Good man, just trying to keep the spirits high, don't want to put you off from coming south again as your a good inspiration to the forums :)

I too would be a little annoyed with it so I can see where your coming from.

It wasn't perfect, but at least we have a forum that actually arranges meets!

With your new Moderator..... I mean Event Organiser skills, we could see some meets being arranged for next year from you Greg on this forum

times are approx, but accurate approx compared to the timings on the day sponsored by goats

slag my sh1te driving all you want, sorry for music, but had to cover the voices as it was comical to say the least

not one run that wasn't ruined by complete loss of boost at some point due to my last min repair job on replacement rad the night/morning before etc

Run one approx 33
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GXvaZGzm9k

Run 2 approx 32
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OuF4aMclDKI

Run 3 approx 30
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PyhsqyygziA

now i did not record all laps, i think i did another minimum of one run, perhaps two.

but these are in order with run 3 being last of the day for me

h8 away b1tches

Greg, it sums up your recent form of luck!

But Yes, there are a few rogue times in there which totally corrupt the results. Given this was pretty serious for some we probably should of paid more and had it timed properly.
Some timing is ok, Ive checked mine and of the 6 tmes i have 2 are completly wrong (slower, typically), 2 close (1 in my favour) and 2 spot on (including my quickest 28.3).

The guys in 3rd and 5th are wrong (robbing Scott, James and Dave in the race cars). I hate to say it (although it comes as a big releif) Dans 2 fast times were done in the damp......
Dave looks like he had the fastest time, which on the tyres he had is entirely possible. But he will have to tell us if its genuine @ 28.2. Id be suprised if he suddenly found that much time given how the track changed and he was pretty consistent upto that run. Well done if he did tho.

Still fun tho :D

Just watched the vids Greg, that last run was good
Im guessing the jumping at the end was a boost hose popping off?

Are you on a K7 box? how did you find 2nd round the infield?

Well I drove my car there in my comfy leather and done times comparable to Scott's race tomcat and the orange race car. So I'm pretty happy :)

Was getting into at end, more confidence, yeah boost hose blows on the home straight, honestly, at the end.

Yeah k7 gear set

Tbh jase i found it ideal, as you can see i became happy keeping it in 2nd on last run in field

Took on board what i heard you and dan saying about going for 3rd unsettling both car and driver

Anything longer than the short blasts in field anywhere else then 2nd would be a bit "tiresome" perhaps

What do i know

I am the young pretender

I was looking at a date at anglesea today, maybe too soon for me/car at the moment but defo on my to do list for next year

Thats interesting, our 2nd being lower was great as you dropped off boost several times a lap, but the 2 short straights Scott, myself and im guessing Dan were hitting the limiter with half the straight left.
So i was left wondering what the K7 2nd would of been like.

angelsey gets booked up quick these days due to so few trackdays there. So worth eyeing them up early
Id wait till summer starts tho, the weather can be quite nasty over there in winter.

vvcmini, your Matthew? (sorry never got your name mate!)
Those are excellent times. What tyres were you running? Im guessing you had something sticky on coz those are quick times, you were as quick as some of the track cars?!?!? And not with dodgy times, there all pretty close/consistant!

I find the lack of goats in those videos disturbing.

Used to be mine that. Is a tidy example. Clocked 100 thousand now but handles pretty good for a big motor. The old man looks after it. He drives pretty much every car on the road yet he still says that ti is better than most modern cars to drive.

That's me, don't think I got chance to speak to you, wasn't enough time in the day to get around everyone. I was on toyo t1r tires. There ok with abit of heat in them and did pretty well in the wet as I was first car on the wet track.
I think on a bigger circuit it wouldn't of done as good but the low down power of the V6 and torsion diff was working really well out the slower corners. But still isn't to bad in a straight line and the brembo bodge setup worked really good but I was pre heating them a fair old bit.

I've got a video on my phone I'll have to try and get it up. Defiantly the winer in the sound department anyway 8)

Im guessing youve done things like this before Mat??
If we talk averages your well in with the track cars. And with Dan miles ahead of anything else on road tyres.

Having you 8th is well out.

I've done the odd sprint race in my mini an track day an stuff ye.
I've got a advantage over the track cars thou. I drive my tomcat as a daily driver so no exactly how it reacts etc. But I would take a guess that my cars a good 30-40kg lighter over the front wheels so it's going to turn in better than the race cars.
