Purchased an MG ZS on Friday and all had been well. Driven nearly 200 miles without issue.

Got back home from London today, gave it a clean, popped out to the shops and back and all well again.

Got into it this evening and the engine management light is on, car revs to 1300rpm, and have no throttle.

Quick search tells me its going into limp mode.

Any ideas where to start looking? Scanned with torque app and no codes picked up.

Help lol

Common issue on the ZR/25 but not on the 45/ZS.

Check brake lights are working correctly.

Check wiring from throttle potentiometer to the ECU as this is the most likely cause.
If not then it could be a faulty throttle pot but this is unusual.

A fault code will be logged but as it probably isn't OBDII compliant most cheap code readers won't find/report anything.

Problem solved. Found a local MG Rover specialist to read the codes. £25 well spent.

Faulty throttle position sensor replaced and job jobbered.
