Hi,

I'm thinking of parting with my N registered 220 Coupe Turbo. Spec as follows -

Stainless Exhaust
Cone Air Filter
Dump Valve
Motor Tech Lowering Springs
MG ZR180 Front Brakes
Partially PolyBushed
Evo Rear Spoiler
17" Satin Black Alloys
Boost/Volt gauge
Evo bonnet vent (functional)
Brake vents (functional)
Metal HeadGasket

The car has a huge history file and is currently without MOT/Tax. In my opinion it will need a tyre and possibly a small patch welded at the bottom of one of the sills. The car has covered 125k.

Within the last year and a half I have replaced a fair few parts including wishbones, drop links, the battery to name a few. The bonnet and front bumper have been resprayed in the last year or so. The car was very regularly serviced with the last oil change within the last 1000 miles.

The condition and bad bits -

Bodywork - few patches of bubble rust on few buts of the arches, but better then most I have seen. The paintwork on the boot has partially lost its shine. Few tiny scratches and trolley dinks.

Engine - pulls well with no smoke, boosts correctly, however after a drive being on boost for a while there is oil being spat from the dump valve (approx couple of tablespoons over my 130 mile work commute, negligible amount if driven cautiously). A compression test showed 135-145psi across all pistons so current culprit is thought to be turbo seal or breather pipe probs.

Gearbox - has a bit of diff and motion shaft wine. Audible at idle. Otherwise works well, engages gears well, no clutch slip.

I am considering MOTing to sell but thought I'd ask for opinions on the cars value first. Selling as I bought a diesel for my work commute. I'm only the 3rd owner.

Cheers!

It will be worth it for you to keep it the to let it go, I'd go with 1234dist on the 700-800 mark but that would be with a 12 month tick on!

The rear spoiler doesn't help and i would suspect that to be the first modification anyone would do.

With gearbox the way it is, possible seals for turbo, the nasty wheels spoiler etc i wouldn't see it fetching more than £700. IMO

Thanks for the opinions so far.

I didn't mention I have the original wheels to go with the car. I'm trying to decide whether to sell it as is, I would probs take £800 at moment, or to go to the trouble of putting it back on the road and putting it on pistonheads/autotrader to appeal to compete as a cheap modded 200bhp car.

Cheers

without an mot the car is scrap value to anyone other than an enthusiast.

At leased with an mot you may get mr/mrs i want a quicj coue to play with who are more likely to get you closer to the £1200 mark once all the minor jobs are completed.

I've just bought the new tyre it needs for an MOT and I'll get it MOT'd in the next couple of weeks. Thanks everyone for the advice. Ill stick it in the cars for sale once I have 12 months MOT on it.

Cheers

Just got back from the MOT, it needed a patch welded underneath the sill at the back on both sides, handbrake adjustment, few bulbs and a new tyre.

Ill be collecting the car in a couple of days with 12 months MOT.

Is anyone interested in the car and would like to make an offer? The car is in NG34.

I don't need to take silly offers, but don't expect a fortune for it either.

Thanks!

Hi mate i would suggest you stick it in the for sale section with a price that you want mate to attract more attention.
