Had a good day out there today. Good turnout. But us ZS'ers got pushed into a corner! Also I'm in support of getting to the pub, brims grove needs all the help it can get.

Seriously though, I was a bit surprised that some of you respected long term members didn't say hi or make yourselves known. I am a relatively new member and my first time taking the 220 to a meet like this. It was difficult for me to remember who has what car and knowing number plates for me to approach anyone to say hi. I only realised afterwards looking at pictures that Greg's RoboCoop was parked two cars along from my GTi (sorry, I should have made mental notes of plates) I still enjoyed the day and loved seeing so many nice Rovers in one place.

yeah it is some times frosty
i tried to make eye contact a few time ( but you were both facing towards the car on your deck chairs eating your packed lunches)
where your the chap in the high vis vest?
tbh there was a very select few RT'ers there
it just seems to be something this forum has never been big on. which imo is a crime.
apologies i didnt make more of an effort.
i was blown away by your car. easily one of the cleanest and in great condition. You should be chuffed.

Yes mate, that was me in the hi viz jacket. Trying to keep warm in the cold wind! Thanks Greg, that is rather a complement, considering the effort you put into your cars and the detailed photos on your progress threads and the impeccable results. It was good to see your car 'in the flesh' close up (even though at the time, I wasn't sure whose car it was!) Yeah, I'm really pleased with my GTi. I've spent a lot of time and money on it these last two years, upgrading certain items, refreshing the paintwork and dealing with the lacquer peel on the roof. However, she's not a 'garage queen', I use it twice a week to drive the thirty mile round trip to see my folks and often go out for pleasure drives.

i knew it had paint work done, but was very impressed by it
has been done to a very high standard!
still threw me seeing the " left hooker"
in the flesh the " all red " thing did work, i know in the past i have made jibes about this
hope to see it again
MG Saloon day is beginning of july

Thanks Greg, I personally prefer the colour coded bumper strips and I know it's not to everyone's taste. We all have similar, but very different cars. I believe that our cars and how we present them is a form of self expression. That's what makes reading about other member's progress threads and seeing the work in pictures, so interesting. By the way, where is the MG saloon day held? Be a bit ironic turning up in a Rover hatchback!

I can't decide whether to bring the Coupe Turbo or the 420 Tourer. The Tourer is probably more scarce than the FDH

Oil dropper? I was leaning toward the Tourer. It would be interesting to have a pair.

I've never been to POL before but am hoping to attend this one for look around, especially at the 220 coupes as an ex owner (hopefully will be again soon!). Question - can anyone attend & is there general parking for none Rover cars or will I be snarled at for turning up in an Audi A5? I have looked for answers on here & FB group but couldn't see anything so apologies if being covered already

You won't be snarled at but you will be directed to the general public parking, they won't let you into the park without a rover or a designated stand area

Also Bring your own drinks, cue's can get quite big and you might resort to extreme measures like some people did last year....

Is there a rovertech stand/area or are you all attending with other groups/or just as individuals?
My first year this year and I'll be taking the 220.
